Grinding from coarse to fine with the hand mortar made of cast iron nIn the Petromax hand mortar you grind spices, nuts and seeds with little force for diverse and creative dishes over the fire. All it takes is a small twisting motion, because the weight of the mortar and pestle grinds the spices almost effortlessly. Effortlessly mix several spices together. The slightly pungent spice of caraway is combined with the intense fragrance of tarragon, and a piquant aroma of laurel, in combination with the slightly pungent or fruity mild taste of paprika, makes for an intensely aromatic spice blend. So that the flavour can unfold in the campfire dish, you can store your individual spice composition in the upper part of the mortar in an airtight container To clean your hand mortar, simply rinse it with water and let it dry thoroughly. The sturdy and durable cast iron requires little maintenance, if needed you can use the Petromax chainmail cleaner to remove traces.

I didn’t mean for things to happen this way, but here we are. The fit is perfect, it’s comfortable, heavy like a weighted blanket and I’ve never felt so supported emotionally by an item of clothing.

Love this stubby holder. The quality is awesome and it actually keeps drinks cold properly while out on the tracks or around camp. We’ve started collecting stubby holders from 4WD brands around NZ and Australia, so this one had to join the collection. The Black Badge design looks mint and fits the vibe perfectly. Absolutely stoked with this bucket. We originally grabbed it for camping and off-grid trips, but it’s now permanently part of the Land Cruiser setup for our shower system. Super practical, tough, and way more versatile than we expected. Perfect size for holding water at camp (or rock collecting apparently) and easy to pack away when not in use. Has already become one of those bits of gear we use every trip without even thinking about it.

Just picked up a Cadac 2 gas cooker and honestly… what a chaotic little masterpiece.
If this cooker had a personality, this one would be that overly enthusiastic mate who turns up to a camping trip with too much energy and a suspicious amount of sausages. Two burners means I can burn my bacon on one side while undercooking eggs on the other peak efficiency.
Heats up fast (almost too fast, RIP my eyebrows), cooks just about anything, and somehow makes me feel like a professional outdoor chef… right up until I have to clean it and start questioning everything.
Big thanks to Coldstart for supplying me this absolute unit of a cooker. Meals may be questionable, but the experience? Elite.
